Last Day of September

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Tomorrow is the first day of October! And we're celebrating by taking our Halloween costume pictures early! My momma works at the Disney store so needless to say, my kids get decked out for Halloween. This year, Olivia is Alice In Wonderland, Landen is Peter Pan, Penelope is Snow White, Evelyn is Belle, and Georgia is Tinkerbell. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be Pochahontas and Braden is going to be Captain Hook. Those pictures coming soon....

Wednesday Webshow-Halloween Crafting

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

I have been flitting about sprinkling Halloween cheer all over my house and I can't wait for tonight's House of 3 Webshow! Heidi has shown sneak peeks of a ton of gorgeous projects she will be doing tonight on the webshow and she even posted a list of supplies needed to craft along with her tonight! I can't wait to get my Halloween craft on, girl.

If you need a little pre-webshow inspiration, watch their show from 2 weeks ago showing all the cute new Halloween digital kits they have at House of 3!

Quickie Post

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

I have to be fast and post this-I have a lot of work to do tonight & I have a wicked sinus headache that I just took medication for so it's only a matter of time until I pass out, but I had to share what my momma brought me today.....

Super cute Jack-O-Lantern & Ghost handsoaps from Bath & Body Works

And a delicious smelling home fragrance Wallflower so now my house smells like Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkins. I heart fall. And my momma.

Monday Night Football

Monday, September 27, 2010

What's Braden most favorite thing about Fall? Football of course. Tonight is Monday Night Football (Bears & The Packers) and I've found some sweet stuff to celebrate!

Football cupcakes form Hostess with the Mostess

Guy Fieri's Football Bash Recipes. Wings, dips, bacon. If that does not make a man happy, then I don't know what will.

Jaimee found these football shaped oreos. These are like finding the Holy Grail.

And of course, you need a festive outfit. Victorias Secret Pink now carries NFL stuff. I'm buying these:

Another Autumn Cupcake Recipe

Saturday, September 25, 2010

I made these yesterday and they were TO DIE FOR delicious. Just the right amount of pumpkin and spice and the maple cream cheese frosting....is insane. You must make these today. And eat them for every meal. Because I did.

Hooray for Autumn!

Friday, September 24, 2010

It's no Fall in New York, but I am so so happy that Autumn is finally here! I busted out all my Halloween decorations yesterday and am on a hunt to add to all my Halloween and Harvest decor. I celebrated the day with some mini cupcakes, which I would be super happy to share with you! I first had one of these Cinnamon Caramel cupcakes from Liberty Market courtesy of my friend Ashlyn, and knew I was going to have to come up with my at home version. After testing a couple recipes out, I meshed 3 different recipes together, tweaked them a bit, and ended up with my perfect Cinnamon Cupcakes with Caramel filling and Salted Caramel Buttercream. They are divine I tell you. Make them today to say HELLO! to the new Fall season.

Did you guys watch the webshow last night?!?!?! It was amazing, I LOVED all the decor they showed especially the book page chandelier that Heidi made. She posted a link to the instructions on her blog, and I am going to make this for my house tomorrow! I started putting up the Halloween decorations today so this chandlier will be a sweet touch!

Spark Worship Day 3

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

One of the Core Classes at Spark was a photography class taught by Wendy of Blue Lily Photography. Her work is gorgeous and super inspiring, so I'm going to share some photo tutorials, favorite photographers and links that will help all amateurs at home get that profesh look for all your upcoming fall photos!

Check out The Pioneer Woman's Photography Section. Now. It is chock full of amazing photo tips-from lighting to what all those crazy buttons on your camera, to new camera suggestions. AND she gives away Free Photoshop Actions! Wohoo! I love her sepia tones, they are gorgeous!

You can purchase more actions at Maggie Homes site, they are fun and super easy to use!

Totally Rad Actions are .....well, totally rad. And they give out free trial actions so you can see if their style is right for you.

And for some awesome classes, you can check out Wendy's Enlighten Workshop in Scottsdale Nov 19th-20th! Also coming up are Nicole Gerulat's online photo classes which look A-mazing (I want to buy her textbook super bad).

All these photos are from portfolios in our new Heirloom Photography Client Gallery! Check out the Heirloom Blog for more info about what's going on with our new photography business!

Spark Worship Day 2

Monday, September 20, 2010

Hello World! l'm back from my week long hiatus! I spent ALL WEEK stalking the ladies of Spark and I can't wait to whip up all the fun crafts they all did this weekend! Today I'm going to start with April Meeker's Silhouette Project! I need to update my silhouette wall in my front room so I took the pictures of my kids today and followed these directions to make our 2010 silhouettes. If you don't have Photoshop, you can follow these directions from Jaimee Rose to make them by hand.

With the old silhouettes I am going to re-use them (in Nie Nie fashion) and make April's Spark Project with them! Instead of pasting the project on canvas like she did, I used my digital designs from House of 3 to create a layout in photoshop, then uploaded it to Persnickity Prints and ordered an 8 x 8 metallic print! I can't wait to pop these onto my kids walls!

If you just do not want to go through all the trouble to make your own silhouettes, or if you want them as a jpeg file for you to use throughout the year and you don't have the equipment to do it yourself, email me at rosemaryw@me.com and I can do your own silhouettes for you for $5 each! Let me know as soon as possible to get these done in time for Christmas! These make great gifts, I'm doing a whole silhouette theme this year!

Spark Worship Day 1

Friday, September 10, 2010

Ok, I'm kicking off the Spark worship by sharing this music video, which I must admit, I was a little skeptical about. I am not a huge fan of Christian music. I know that sounds awful, but really I mostly think that good Christian musicians are few and far between. But this song is lovely and could be interpreted in many many ways, and really I just love the cinematography of the video and her butterfly wings. And the waltz cadence the song is in, it's perfect for rocking your babies to sleep.

Mindy Gledhill is performing at Spark and I wish wish wish I was there to hear this lovely little lullaby in person! It is so inspiring-I think I'll put my girls in butterfly wings!

Bad Case of the Bummers

Thursday, September 9, 2010

I don't know what is the matter with me this last week, but I have a serious case of the blues people. Like the Ray Charles singin blues. I don't usually disclose this kind of info here, since this is my happy place but I just wanted to explain my absence after such a lavish promise of Spark worshipping craftiness. I keep myself super duper busy sometimes to avoid my own distress and every so often it catches up with me and I spend a few days bummed out. I'm coming out of it today I've resolved but not early enough to give you a fabulous creative post so please bear with me, give me a moment, and I promise I'll make it up to you.

Lots of Love, Rainbows, and Lollipops
